Well-Loved has been using Skidmore’s Leather Cream since 2013. Handcrafted by husband and wife beekeepers in Washington, this leather cream’s beeswax base helps waterproof leather. Skidmore’s Leather Cream is also great for reviving dry, cracked leather and for cleaning, conditioning, and protecting your favorite leather goods.

  • Apply just a little bit to an old washcloth, or t-shirt and buff circles into the leather good.

Mend Severe Scratches

Well-Loved uses full grain veg-tanned leather. This means the color goes beyond a top coat. With most scratches you can rub them out using your thumb. If the scratch is beyond that my first course of action would be  Skidmore’s Leather Cream . If the scratch is more severe I would use the old reliable KIWI Shoe Polish.

Sanitizing

I would not recommend using heat, alcohol, or excessive water on your leather goods this can damage the leather or ruin the color. To sanitize your favorite leather goods simply follow the steps below.

  1. Squeeze a couple drops of mild soap into a bowl of water. I used Mrs. Meyer’s dish soap, because it doesn’t have moisturizing additives that a hand soap would have.

  2. Dip a cotton wash cloth in the bowl of soapy water and wring out till damp.

  3. Quickly swipe the cloth over the leather. There will be wet streaks at first but they will dry.
