A beautiful flower grows in an open suitcase in the aisle of an airplane. The weather outside looks concerning and the news is heartbreaking, but we continue to plant seeds.
In Flight is about fostering hope during turbulent times. In 2025, I was pregnant with my second daughter and my life was flooded with uncertainty. I felt as if I was growing this flower in a suitcase, in the aisle of an airplane. I thought about hope, and when the world seems daunting why we continue to grow things. It’s because even in our darkest times, hope prevails.
In the collage, my daughter and I are using kites with flashlights and found pitchers to grow this flower. My daughter helped me to stay present and get creative while living in this uncertainty. The weather outside the window is dark but getting better, and the luggage tag reminds us this is just a season.
