Ladybug Season Poem Print

Ladybug Season

A shedded chrysalis in the laundry pile, a book of dreams on my bedside table Making wishes on ladybugs that everything will be okay

A mother giving her daughter the crown to stay

Don't bring your cynicism to my self worth I am something beautiful from the earth I arrived with constellations on my face

Two feet on the ground, done with your chase

I make bridges with my body, I can make life too.

Let me open up my mind and you can see what it can do.

It can create story books and bright spots from dark things we don't like.

It can find impossible strength and even ride a bike.

These hands can make a world unlike you've ever seen,

Tiny little houses and plants so bright and green.

With a little bit of fabric, or a mountain of magazines,

The truth is just a whisper hidden within each perfect scene.
