HOLIDAY DIY: VINTAGE FRUIT ORNAMENTS

My grandmother was always known for being creative and resourceful. I grew up hearing stories about her baking with the apples and mulberries growing in the backyard. I was always so impressed by her fruit and candy ornaments she made with my dad and aunts were kids. After years of admiring, I asked my dad and aunts how they made the ornaments and my husband and I tested it out. My grandmother’s ornaments were made coated with vintage glass glitter which is tricky to find, but normal clear glitter worked well for us. I also love this project because you can be really thrifty and use what you have. In the below photo the hard candy and apple slice off the plate are the ones my dad, aunt, and grandmother made.
