HOLIDAY DIY: OLD- FASHIONED

On a cold Christmas Eve years ago, my brother, Matt, handcrafted a batch of the most delicious Old Fashioneds. Anytime Matt is in the kitchen cooking the outcome is going to be something special, and he always know the best ingredients to use. It’s no surprise that his Old-Fashioned recipe includes Luxardo Cherries and Four Roses Bourbon. Luxardo Cherries are made by a 200 year old family-owned company in Italy. The cherries are epic! They not only elevate cocktails but are awe-inspiring on top of ice cream. The secret ingredient in my peach cobbler recipe is 1/8 tsp of Luxardo Cherries’ syrup. Four Roses Bourbon is award winning, unique, and comes in different varieties. The most expensive is The Small Batch ($60), then The Single Barrel ($50). The Yellow Label ($30) which was recently awarded the Best Bourbon For Cocktails. This recipe was so memorable that I gifted the recipe, Four Roses Bourbon, Peychaud’s Bitters, and Luxardo Cherries for Valentines Day. I hope this recipe makes your holidays and beyond extra special!
